The small details are the customer experience
Why Superb Staging & Design treats invoicing, payment links, and clear next steps as part of a thoughtful client experience.

At Superb Staging & Design, we spend a lot of time thinking about how a room feels when someone walks into it. But the experience of working with us is shaped by plenty of things that happen away from the room too.
Service businesses are often high-ticket purchases, yet buying and managing a service can feel nowhere near as easy as completing something online. We think that is a real opportunity: make the experience feel simple, clear, and thoughtfully designed from the first conversation through the last detail.
An invoice is one of those details
When someone is getting a home ready to list, moving into a new place, or working through an interior-design project, they already have a lot on their plate. We do not want payment to add another confusing email thread or an awkward conversation.
That is why we use Nickel. Our platform integrates directly with Nickel’s API, takes payment links, and sends them directly to clients, along with reminders when they’re needed. Clients can see their projects and outstanding invoices in our portal instead of searching through old messages. If a staging project needs an extension, the request can start there too.
Credit-card fees used to create awkwardness more often than they should. This used to happen a lot. Nickel lets the business choose whether it or the customer pays the card fee, so the choice can be clear before a client proceeds.
A calmer next step
It sounds small, but it changes the rhythm of the relationship. Our clients and referral partners have a clearer next step, and we can stay focused on the work rather than creating more back-and-forth.
We use QuickBooks as part of how we run the business, and we are always asking the same question when we bring in a new tool: does it make the experience easier for the person on the other side? If it does, it usually makes the work better for our team too.
The same standard across both services
That mindset applies to both sides of Superb. Staging has a fast timeline: installation, photography, showings, and removal all need to come together. Interior design often has a longer arc, from the first conversation through selections, procurement, and a finished home. The details differ, but the goal is the same: make the process feel thoughtful, calm, and well organized.
For anyone building a service business, we would start there. Walk through the experience as your client. Where do they have to wait? What do they have to ask twice? What could be clearer? The systems that matter are often the ones that make those moments disappear.
